Cone Beam technology provides a digital three dimensional view of the patient’s area of interest. A traditional x-ray is only two-dimensional. With cone beam scanners, the doctor is able to get a full 360 degree view of the potential surgical sites using less radiation than traditional medical CT technology. LICOMS surgeons are able to use this technology in virtual surgical planning, where the surgical plan is carried out prior to your procedure in a simulated computer program.
